2023-09-07 by Callum Andrews

The two games that currently are the talk of the gaming town are Baldurs Gate 3 and Starfield. Two of this year's most anticipated games and for good reason. Both come with the sort of pedigree and momentum which has been building up ever since they got announced.

Even though the wait for these games has been long they sure haven't disappointed us. Which can't be said for some other major releases that have graced us these past few years. But as is the case for most PC games nowadays and especially the ones that are developed by Bethesda, some form of mods are going to appear. In Baldurs Gate's 3 case, even though the game's been out in just over a month there are already over a thousand mods out there.

Today we're going to present five of the most popular mods that are available for enhancing your trek through Baldurs Gate even further. Whether you're taking your first steps into the world of D&D or are having another go but feel that the game could have been tweaked in some manner or other. We're sure that you can find something interesting to further enhance your experience.

ImprovedUI ReleaseReady

Well, it surely doesn't have the best name out there but it's rarely the case that these mods do have any form of good name to them. One of the first things to appear usually in the form of a mod when a new game comes out is a UI mod. And so is the case here too. ImprovedUI ReleaseReady currently takes first place as the most popular mod over at Nexus Mods with over 250,000 unique downloads, which sure is an indication that it most probably does improve the vanilla UI for many people. You can check it out below.

Baldur's Gate 3 Mod Fixer

Not much to say here, this mod makes sure that mods work with the full-release version of Baldurs Gate 3 as opposed to just the EA version.

Basket Full of Equipment. NSFW version

Gotta love these really sexy names for some of these mods. I mean, it doesn't get better than "Basket Full of Equipment". At least it's descriptive because what this mod gives you is over 800 pieces of armour and equipment specifically targeted towards the more humanlike races. Some of these armor sets are also somewhat NSFW which might break immersion somewhat I guess but each to their own. A thing of note is that these armours and equipment only differ in their visuals but not in their stats. So statwise they are basically all the same armor, the only difference lies in how they look.

5e Spells

What are 5E spells you might ask. Well, basically just more spells to the game. If you think there aren't enough spells in the base game or haven't found any to your liking then this mod might help with that. While not being the only mod to add more spells to the game and probably not the last it's certainly is the most popular right now.

Tav's Hair Salon

Ahh yes, another mod staple is the hair mod (besides the body mods and UI mods). This mod adds an assortment of hairstyles that are only available to the player character. So while playing no one else in the entire game will have the same hairstyle as yours.
